ABOUT THE FIESTA
The Fiesta, was held on 13th July 2024 at Our Tampines Hub organised by Anandha Traditional Arts and Music Ltd (ATAM) in partnership with PA Narpani, Indian Heritage Centre, SINDA and Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre. It aimed to celebrate and promote traditional arts and music of the various Indian communities in Singapore.
The programme featured the largest mass performance of Indian traditional music and arts in Singapore, bringing together an estimated 1000 participants. This diverse group included students, adults, and practitioners from various arts groups, schools, IAECs, and the public. Participants encompassed a multicultural blend, including individuals from different Indian sub-ethnic backgrounds, Singaporeans, new citizens, and PRs, promoting social cohesion and integration.
The event witnessed 2 new entries into the Singapore Book of Records.
1) The Largest Mass Kolaattam Dance with 522 Participants
2) The Largest Medley of Indian Traditional Percussion with 219 Participants, featuring Parai, Chenda Melam, Bhangra Dhol, Maharashtra Dhol & Tasha and Urumi Melam.
Our Guest-of-Honour was Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Culture, Community & Youth and Trade & Industry. He presented our partners and supporters with the Certificate of achievement for the 2 Singapore Book of Records.
